FAITH FORMATION OPPORTUNITIES
Faith Formation is one of the ways we grow deeper in our relationship with God and one another. It doesn’t require prior knowledge…just a willingness to learn!
This fall there will be three opportunities to participate in Faith Formation at St Paul’s. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend! Call Pastor Lori if you have any questions about the classes that are being offered.
Viewing and Discussing, The Chosen
Imagine that you could see the life of Jesus through the eyes of the people that walked on earth with him. The Chosen is a multi-season TV show that allows us to see Jesus through the eyes of those who knew and encountered him. The Chosen stays faithful to the Gospels while telling a story that is in between the lines of Scripture. It is faithful to the historical context and helps the viewer imagine what life was like in First Century Israel.
Join us on Thursday nights from September 9th through October 28th at 6:30-8:00pm to watch Season One of The Chosen. Each session will include a time for reflection questions that will help us digest what we just watched.
Psalms; Prayers of the Heart
The Psalms show us how to relate to God as we pray our doubt, fears, and anger. They also show us how to respond to God in praise.
Join us on Wednesday mornings from 10:30am-noon from September 8th through November 24th to explore how these ancient poems speak to today’s situations and help us pray. Please note that this class will be hybrid. Participants can participate in-person and on Zoom! Call Pastor Lori if you would like a book for this study.
Earthbound: Created and Called to Care for Creation
Christians have a complex relationship with God’s creation. We are called to care for the earth but have tangled up our concepts of dominion and stewardship. We are not living with the effects of this misconception.
Join us on Sunday mornings from 8:30-9:30 from September 19th through October 24th for a six-week series that will help us recognize God’s call to us to relate to the whole creation as our vocation and learn how God’s people throughout the Church are living out that call.
